How to make a National Team?
The Aggregate in the MBAO is a set number of games that must be played during the course of the Season in order to qualify to make our National Teams and travel to the National Championships
Men's and Ladies teams from the Teaching Division and the Tournament Division and one Mixed Team from the Seniors Division are chosen each year. Team Members travel free to these Championships wherever they are in Canada. This season the National Championships will be held in Winnipeg Manitoba during the month of July.
Teaching Division Affiliated
The Aggregate consists of a total of 28 Games for the Season.
Teaching Masters who attain the top 5 positions in the province over the course of our entire season base on a Pins Over Average total for both Ladies and Men’s teams. Events that Teaching Masters must attend to be considered for our National Team are:
Master Junior Tournament - 3 Games
Mid Winter Blues Event - 6 Games
Master Bantam Tournament - 3 Games
One of the following Optional Events - 6 Games
Eastern Classic Tournament
Central Classic Tournament
Western Classic Tournament
Year End Event - 10 Games
Teaching Masters who play in more than one Optional Event will be allowed to drop the lowest Pins Over Average Total from any other Optional Event or the combined POA total for the Master Bantam and Master Junior Tournaments. The lowest POA total will dropped automatically to calculate the aggregate total as our season progresses. However a Teaching Master must have played in both youth tournaments in order to keep their aggregate eligibility for the National Team.
Teaching Members must play in all Mandatory Events plus at least one of the three Optional Events. If a member plays in more than one Optional Event, the highest Pins Over Average Total will be used for the Aggregate. If a member plays in both the Master Bantam and Master Junior events and two or more Optional Events, the top two 6-game blocks will be used to
Members may also enter any Optional Event twice by playing in both the Saturday and Sunday shift. In this case the first 6 game POA total will be used for the Aggregate. (The highest 6 game total is used for the Tournament Results and average calculations.)
Mandatory Events - Master Bantam - 3 Games, Master Junior - 3 Games, Mid Winter Blues - 6 Games, Year End Tournament - 10 Games.
Optional Events - Eastern Ontario Championships, Central Ontario Championships or Western Ontario Championships - 6 Games.
